question
What’s getting in your way?
When your brain makes sense of the world in a different way, challenges you think should be small can end up seeming impossible. The same kinds of things keep holding us back.

Lost spark
Creative stagnation, loss of enthusiasm, feeling disconnected from work that used to matter. You want to rediscover curiosity, passion and motivation.
Everyday focus
The practical day-to-day stuff: focus, overwhelm, organisation, energy, habits, boundaries and getting things done without constantly feeling behind.

Self–belief
That inner critic. Shame, guilt, comparison, imposter feelings and the accumulated stories that you're at fault, or not doing life 'properly'.
ADHD know–how
Late diagnosis, the rollercoaster of emotions, understanding yourself differently, letting go of old explanations and finding what works for you – now.
Stuck patterns
Procrastination, avoidance, overthinking, perfectionism. Restrictive, unhelpful habits and cycles keep repeating and seem impossible to shift.

Finding balance
Relationships, family, parenting, lifestyle and the impact of how your patterns – or someone else's – get in the way of the life you want to have.
Fear of change
New job, career pivot, creative ambition, a long-held idea or feeling that something needs to change. Exploring what's possible and doing something about it.

Having a left-field brain brings a lot of advantages.
The creativity, curiosity, drive and talent that comes
with it are behind plenty of amazing careers.
But the truth is, they play by a different rulebook —
and everyone’s is unique. If you don’t understand yours, problems can start to get in the way. When you do — better things happen. That’s where I help.

Knowing what and why isn’t the same as knowing how
There’s no shortage of information out there. Books, podcasts, videos, opinions, tips, hacks and symptoms to work through. Some of it helps. A lot of it just gives you more things to wonder about. Knowing what the problem is, and why, doesn’t tell you how your left-field brain works, what's getting in your way or what might actually help you. The right how's for you, are much harder to find on your own.

change that sticks
Why coaching works
For brains that 'think outside the box', choosing the right route forward is trickier than it should be. Ideas come too fast, internal chatter slows things down, and consistency is elusive. We get stuck in holding patterns. Coaching changes that. You stop working it out on your own. In a session, I hold the focus while you think out loud. Ideas stop piling up and turn into a plan you build that fits how you work – which is why it sticks. Three things make it happen.

1. Perspective
When you live with a challenge day in, day out, you stop seeing it clearly, you get caught up in tangents – and the biggest cost is the time you can't get back. Coaching sessions with me introduce fresh ideas, reveal what you've been missing, and highlight what to do next.

2. Space
Brains like ours get excited by, and often tied up in, new ideas. Good ideas become great ones when they get the room to grow. A session is that room – rare, uninterrupted time to unpack and stress-test your thinking, with someone dedicated to helping make it happen.
3. Progress
Left-field brains do their best thinking with company – alone, we can chew over the same thoughts for weeks and still get nowhere. As a coach I think alongside you: ask the questions no one else will and keep things moving in the direction you want to go.

your coach
Hi, I’m Mat
Before becoming a coach, I spent over 20 years leading design teams, helping creatives build confidence in their ideas and find better ways to do their best work more consistently. For much of that time I was frustrated that I couldn't stay consistent myself, always knowing I was capable of more and not understanding why some things just didn't work for me the way they seemed to for others. I worried a lot about what it was costing me. Coaching helped me understand how I work and build a practical set of tools and habits that fit me. Now fully qualified, I help people with brains like mine do the same.
